Perfect Simplicity!

Dan and Amy!

Here is a wedding I just did in Texas! What a beautiful couple. The bride was just about as perfect as it comes. She wore a beautiful vintage Casa Blanca dress, simple diamond earrings, and a perfectly layered veil. Her makeup was natural, soft, and peecky keen. We started with a basic MAC foundation, then moved to cream blush, highlighted the brow bone with a shade stick, then used light browns for the crease. Dark brown eye liner, brown mascara, lustre drops for highlight on the cheekbones, and LORAC bronzer to top off her dewy, warm complexion. We used MAC's snop on her lips, and then Varneesh Lip Laquer ( which has sadly been discontinued ). Substitute with Purr lip glass. All over highlighter for her cheekbones and collar bones, and she was glowing all the way down the aisle!

Pretty in Pink

Pretty in Pink
It doesn't get any lovelier than this girlie palette, which Green achieved by marrying a rosy glow with fuchsia lips. One tip: "Apply pink shadow only in the creases, to avoid looking sick," she says.

"Bursts of color or shimmer— on just one feature — keep you from seeming washed out," Green says.

Bold yet beautiful, "this look is all about the eyes," makeup artist Charlie Green says. A glittery metallic gel acts as a liner on top of blue-green shadow, while cheeks and lips are kept neutral so as not to compete.
This concept is classic, hence the red lip, extra mascara, and emphasis on eyes. Our expert focused on the outer corners for drama. Use a lip primer to prevent bleeding; always use liner with a stronger lip color, using a brush to blend out the lines and give a more perfect shape. Be sure to stick with long-wearing color — you don’t want lipstick to come off when kissing your guests. Long-wearing products can be drying, so prepare the day before with extra lip balm.

Wedding Look : Hollywood Glamour

Tips for perfect wedding day are imperative on the biggest day of your life... here's how to make it a reality. No mess, no fuss!

The style you choose for your wedding make-up will ultimately depend on your personal preference, but there are some other factors to consider:
Are you having a summer or winter wedding? In summer, go for bright, pastel colours. Warm, deeper shades will lend themselves well to a winter wedding.
Keep in mind that your make up should be a little more dramatic than your everyday make-up so that it stands out in the photographs!
Avoid anything too shiny on your skin. If you're getting married in the summer, stick to a coloured lip-gloss but don't wear shine all-over. Light formulas are better as you don't want your makeup melting in the sun.
Face
Firstly, prep your skin with a primer after moisturising. Aside from filling in any fine lines, large pores, and other imperfections, a primer will ensure foundation lasts longer on your skin. Try Estée Lauder PrimeFx Color Neutralizing Primer, R215 for 25ml.

Foundations with yellow undertones work best with flash photography. Keep away from shimmer highlighters as this look will not show up well in photos and give a reflective shine. Alternatively, use a bronzing powder to warm your skin tone and give a natural glow. Apply to the forehead, cheeks and bridge of nose.

If you’re not a big make-up fan, opt for a tinted moisturiser or mix a little foundation with your moisturiser to even out your skin tone. Try Estee Lauder Daywear Plus Multi Protection Anti-Oxidant Moisturizer Sheer Tint Release Formula (R345) – aside from tinting, the formula actively shields skin to help prevent lines before they appear. To combat shine, dust a loose, oil-free face powder over your entire face, round the eyes as well as your neck. Apply with a large make-up brush to prevent overloading, dusting on lightly. Try Clinique Blended Face Powder and Brush (R215) – it mattes skin without making it appear dull.

Eyes

Mascara/liner – Waterproof mascara is a must for those teary moments on your wedding day as well as to prevent ‘raccoon eyes,’ when your mascara and liner smudges forming black circles under the eyes. Try Dior Diorshow Waterproof Mascara (R285) for a smooth application sans clumps.

Eyeshadow – The eye-area should be soft and natural with no heavy, dark lines. To make your peepers appear wider, apply light coloured shadow on the inner corners of your eyes. Choose eye shadows with a matte or satin finish to prevent caking. Try Maybelline Dream Mousse Shadow (R59,95), available in a range of colours.

Cheeks
For those who are not blessed with a great pair of cheekbones, fake it! Use a matte bronzer below the cheekbones then apply a pink or peach blush on the apples of the cheeks. Try Elizabeth Arden Bronzing Beauty Kit for Face and Eyes (R150).

Lips
Before you apply lipstick, exfoliate your lips with a lip exfoliator. This even out the surface of the lips to better absorb lipstick, making it last longer. Try The Body Shop’s Lipscuff, (R70).

Line and fill in your lips with a lip liner that matches the colour of your lipstick. Then fill in your lips with the pencil. Finally on top of that, apply a long-wearing lipstick with a moisture content, to prevent your lips from drying out. Blot with a tissue and reapply your lipstick – repeat this twice.Try Clarins Joli Rouge (R190) – the soft, creamy formula is said to offer stay-true, moisturising colour.

Remember, it is more flattering to define one area at a time. If you want dark, defined eyes, go for a lighter lip shade and if you want dark/bright lips, go for natural, light eyes.

Touch ups: keep the following on hand

Cotton buds and some make-up remover to wipe away any smudges under the eyes.

Your lipstick, should you need a touch up.

Loose powder to blot away any sweaty patches.

Eye Makeup for Different Eye Shapes | Makeup

Eye Makeup for Different Eye Shapes | Makeup: "Every woman is unique and beautiful. At the same time, there’s no woman lacking any defects of appearance. As for the face, the defects can be easily corrected with makeup and finally appear as advantages. Every woman should know, how to apply makeup so that it would emphasize her natural beauty and make her more attractive and at the same time would hide defects. Depending on the shape of your eyes choose different colors and ways of applying eye makeup. I will tell you how.
Eye Makeup for Deep Set Eyes

If you have deep set eyes, choose light and nacreous tints of eyeshadows, it would help to make your eyes appear visually bigger. Apply light eyeshadows on your eyelid from the inner corner of your eye to the outer and a bit further. Light colors should be applied in the middle of the lid, and darker colors – on and just above the socket line. Blend the darker shade up and out.
Eye Makeup for Wide Set Eyes

You can visually reduce the range between your eyes if you apply a darker tint of eyeshadows from the outer corner of your eye to the middle of the eyelid. Apply a lighter eye shadow from the middle of your eyelid to the inner corner of your eye. Blend in different shades in the middle of the eyelid.
Eye Makeup for Close Set Eyes

Close set eyes are those narrower than one eye width. Apply some corrector on the inner corners of both eyes. Using an eyeliner draw a very thin line with along the upper eyelashes so that it becomes thicker near the outer corner of your eyes. Apply a very thin layer of light eye-shadows from the inner corner of your eyes to the middle of your eyelid. Then apply eyeshadows of darker tints starting from the middle of your eyelid to the outer corner. Blend the colors in the middle of the eyelids. Use more mascara on the outer corners."

As formulas have become more sophisticated, botanic and mineral make-up has not only become better for your skin, it's blossomed beyond earthy colours to cover a glamorously glossy spectrum. Mother Nature just got sexy…

"l use mineral make-up every day, on everyone. As a make-up artist, it is so important to look after your client's skin – one bad reaction can be a disaster, so l need to be able to trust the safety of a product and know it will look great," says make-up artist Victoria Baron. "Natural pigments are fresh, vibrant and now in popular, sexy colours."
